BBC Bitesize and Oak National Academy

New Educational Services from the BBC and DfE

From Monday, 20th April, the BBC started providing curriculum led activities and programming to complement the home learning being offered by schools.

Bitesize Daily, are once again, delivering a tailored day of learning across BBC iPlayer, Red Button, BBC Bitesize website and app, BBC Four and BBC Sounds, with curriculum relevant offers. Together, this comprehensive package is aimed at minimising disruption to children’s education and providing rhythm and routine in these challenging times.

Navigating around the content is simple for parents and children to follow as all content is divided into age groups. From watching the 20 min programme on BBC iPlayer or BBC Red Button relevant to the child’s age, parents will be directed to the resources available that day for that child on BBC Bitesize online. BBC Bitesize online currently homes a new Maths and English lesson for every child every day with more subjects to follow. BBC Bitesize is the one stop shop for all the educational resources whether that be podcasts, videos, quizzes and importantly lessons.

Oak National Academy

This is an online classroom and resource hub sponsored by the DfE and created by teachers.   If you click on the link the site is self-explanatory, (just enter the 'classroom') with daily lessons available for all year groups, including EYFS.

We hope that you find these resources useful.  Please let your teachers know how you are doing via the year group emails.  The emails are also the place to ask any questions you may have.
