Forest School at Eastbrook
Forest School has started at Eastbrook! All of our children have already enjoyed their initial taster sessions and each class is now timetabled in for a block of sessions across the year. It will be slightly different for our Early Years children will have several sessions spread across the year.
We are delighted to inform you that the Friends of Eastbrook (our PTA) have manged to source some possible funding for our Forest School. In order to access this funding we need as many parents/family members/friends as possible to log onto:
From this page you can type in Eastbrook to find the link and then follow the simple on-line registration information to place 10 votes for our project.
Thank you for your support.
New to the Eastbrook curriculum for 2017-2018 is the introduction of Forest School. Forest School is an inspirational concept providing learning opportunities through practical activities in an outdoor environment. Children enjoy the freedom to explore and experience the natural world in all sessions and all weathers. It embraces an approach of nuturing, supporting and developing self-esteem of participants; and is an ideal environment in which to develop innovation, problem solving, risk taking, creativity and teamwork.
Forest School will be led by Ms. Geden and Ms. Ross who are trained Forest School leaders.
To be able to participate fully in Forest School appropriate clothing is needed. All children need to bring with them:
- Wellingtons or sturdy walking boots
- Long trousers and a long sleeved top
- Jumper or sweatshirt
- Waterproof coat and trousers
- Hat, gloves and thick socks in Autumn/Winter months.
- Sun hat and sun cream in Summer.
If you have any questions about Forest School then please speak to Ms. Geden or Ms. Ross.
