Wider Re-opening of the School
Please see the message from the REAch2 Leadership team about the wider re-opening of the school:
‘Although we are really looking forward to welcoming back some of the children, we will only re-open our schools when we are satisfied that it is safe enough to do so. For this reason, we have taken the decision to not re-open any REAch2 school earlier than Monday 8th June 2020. For some schools, the opening date may be later than this. The reason for this is to give our schools more time to prepare for re-opening and take every measure reasonably possible to keep your children and our staff safe.’
At Eastbrook we have been open to key worker children and children from vulnerable families since the 23rd March and are continuing with this provision. From Monday 8th June we will be welcoming back Year 1 children, whose parents have requested a place. Initially, this provision will be mornings only. From Monday 15th June the plan is to open to reception pupils in a similar way, followed by Year 6 from Monday 22nd June.
We realise that the continuing uncertainty around when we will open to more pupils/if we will open to more pupils is not helpful but as a school we have to follow guidelines from both the Department for Education and our Academy Trust. All parties are trying to ensure the safest possible reopening of schools.
We would like to thank you for your continued support at this time.
