Published 16/10/2270th Anniversary Celebration: Next Friday we will be welcoming a number of ex-students and teachers to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Manor Hall/ Eastbrook Schools.
Each class has adopted a decade of the school’s life and has created something to share with other children and their assigned visitors.
Parents will also be invited to see what their children have been up to from 2:45-3pm on Friday 21st October. Please pop along to your child’s class a few minutes before pick up that day so we can share our celebration of school history with you too! (just enough time to see more than one class if you have several children).

Read MoreYear 4 Bread Making Day
Published 16/10/22On Wednesday 19th October, the children in Year 4 will be taking part in a design and technology day. They have been researching and designing their own bread product and are now ready to get baking!
The school will be providing the basic ingredients for the bread. However, children will need to bring in their own chosen flavourings/additions. We have given children a choice of these ingredients – here is a guide to how much they will need to bring, depending on their choice:
Dried fruit: 100 grams
Chocolate chips: 50 grams
Herbs/spices: 1 tablespoon
Cheese: 100 grams
Children do not need to bring all the ingredients above, just the ones they have chosen to include in their bread. The children will need to bring in their chosen ingredients on Wednesday 19th October.

Published 09/10/22Dress Down Day— Friday 14th October.
To help with the tombolas at the Firework display on Thursday 3rd November, the Friends of Eastbrook (our wonderful PTA) would like to hold a dress down day in school on Friday 14th October. Instead of bringing money, children are invited to bring in donations for the tombolas. Donations might include: Bottles of soft drinks, wine of spirits, chocolates and sweets, canned goods.

Read MoreYear 2 Bakers Day
Published 09/10/22Our current Y2 topic is called Fire and Ice. One of the historical events we have been looking at is the Great Fire of London. In order to excite and engage the children, we will be having a ‘WOW’ day on Thursday 13th October.
We would therefore like the children to come to school dressed as a baker (wearing an apron!) because the Great Fire of London first began in 1666, in Pudding Lane when one of the bakers forgot to turn the oven off!
During the day, the children will make a bread roll and taste a selection of different breads. To cover the cost of the ingredients and sampling of different breads, we would like to ask for a voluntary donation of £2.00, to be paid via Parent Pay

Published 06/10/22On Monday 10th October we plan to support the Young Minds Charity by asking children to wear an item of yellow clothing to school with a voluntary £1.00 donation. We will have buckets on the playground in the morning or your donation can be given to the class teacher/office in an envelope.
This charity helps children and young people who are struggling with their mental health and or anxiety issues. As you will no doubt be aware additional young people and their families have needed support during the Covid lockdown and continue to need help. On this Monday we will explore different activities, and resources from the charity to support our own pupils in school. Our plan is to send half of the money collected to the charity and use half to buy resources to support pupil well-being in our own school. Thank you for your support.
